The Medik8 Total Skin Reset Peel is a multi-action, professional-grade skin treatment. Rather than a single formula, it uses a 4-step system that combines manual, enzymatic, and chemical exfoliants.
1. Manual Exfoliation
Bamboo Polish Granules: Physically but gently buffs away dead surface skin cells without disrupting the skin's natural barrier. Bamboo particles are ultra-fine and and uniform in shape which allow for exfoliation that doesn't result in micro tears in the skin often resulting from the use of harsher physical exfoliators such as those derived from peach kernals etc. Bamboo is a biodegradable and eco-friendly compound. Abundant in silica, bamboo strengthens the skin barrier and boosts collagen production. It is a natural antoxidant that helps protect the complexion from UV-related stress and free radicals, (cell and DNA damaging unstable molecules produced in the skin after exposure to enviromental stressers).

Medik8 Superfacial Enzyme Peel: Fruit enzymes (such as papaya and pineapple derivatives) break down surface dead skin and debris to brighten the complexion. Key Ingredients & Their Scientific Actions
Lactic Acid: A gentle, large molecular size AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid), that absorbs uniformly and slowly and is therefore well-tolerated by sensitive or rosacea prone skins. It gently exfoliates without causing irritation. Lactic acid is a natural humectant, (a moisture magnet), meaning it draws moisture from the environment and binds it to the skin. It is a key component of the skin's natural moisturising factors which deplete as we age. With regular treatment, lactic acid stimulates collagen production and improves cell turnover which leads to firmer skin and softer lines and wrinkles, additionally, lactic acid helps to fade surface pigmentation such as sun spots, age spots and post breakout marks. Finally,this acid can resolve textural issues such as rough, bumpy skin for a smoother, softer complexion.
Glycolic Acid: A powerful AHA with a small molecular size that allows it to penetrate deeply to dramatically boost cell turnover and stimulate collagen production for smoother, clearer skin with softer lines and wrinkles. It reaches deep into the pores to clear out excess oil and dead skin debris, preventing future blackheads and breakouts. Glycolic acid is also a natural humectant, it draws moisture into the skin cells and also further boosts hydration by encouraging the production of hyaluronic acid and mucopolysaccharides that are responsible for your skin's moisture levels, structural support and lubrication. The specially formulated Time-Release Technology by Medik8 slowly drips the glycolic acid into the skin to minimize irritation making it's incredible resurfacing abilities accessible to all skin types.
Mandelic Acid: A gentle, large molecular size AHA that absorbs uniformly and slowly and is therefore well-tolerated by sensitive or rosacea prone skins. Mandelic works both on the surface and within the pores. It's antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties target acne causing bacteria, regulate sebum and unclog pores. Mandelic acid accelerates cell turnover and promotes collagen production reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. WHAT IS A CHEMICAL PEEL?
Medik8 chemical peels are professional-grade exfoliating acids, applied to the skin with a small brush to help visibly resurface and retexturize.
My extensive peel menu also offers a multitude of additional targeted benefits to meet your specific skin concerns, and all of the peels feature Time Release technology to ensure optimal comfort during the treatment plus minimal downtime.
Can I just have 1 peel to improve my skin?
It is possible to have a single peel treatment, but I recommend a course of peels (usually 6) to really see the long-term skin benefits. Much like with fitness, the best results appear when you commit to an ongoing programme. I offer treatment packages with significant savings, the ‘12 Weeks To Wow’ Peel Package offers a saving of £99 and the optimum of six peel treatments for the very best results.
Are peels suitable for everyone?
Chemical peels are generally suitable for most skin types. But, my extensive peels menu ranges from the Sensitive PHA Peel (suitable for very sensitive skins) right through to mono peels (for more stubborn skin concerns) to ensure all skin types are catered for.
I will analyse your skin before every treatment to ensure that a peel is the perfect treatment for you. However, please note the following guidance: Medik8 professional peels are not suitable for those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking acne medication, undergoing some other cosmetic treatments (such as injectables or laser), under medical supervision, or suffering from sunburn or eczema.
Please always consult your GP before booking a peel.
What's the downtime?
By definition, the application of acids to your skin may cause redness, skin flaking and occasionally very mild peeling - but every complexion is different.
As a general rule, expect flaking from around the 3rd day post-peel for a maximum of 5 further days. All Medik8 peels feature Time Release technology which gradually releases the acid into the skin to help ensure optimal comfort during treatment.
What results can I expect?
24 hours post-peel your skin will likely feel a little tight and appear slightly flushed. Within 3 days your skin may start to flake but within the week you will start to see clearer, more uniform skin.
Over a course of 6 peels, results will be even more visibly profound. Medik8’s unique combination of Time Release technology and an at-home CSA aftercare regime help to minimise downtime and facilitate faster skin recovery.
I recommend taking pictures of your progress, which I can happily help with in-clinic.
Can peels be used alongside other treatments like botox or laser?
I provide a complimentary consultation two weeks or more prior to booking your peel during which we will determine which Medik8 professional treatments are right for you in regards to other treatments you may have had.
How long will my results last?
This can vary depending on your skin type and conditions, also how you care for your skin at home and other lifestyle factors but generally you can expect to see the results from a course of peels lasting upto six months. To maintain results at their optimum or continue to improve your progress, I recommend booking a single maintenance peel every 6 to 8 weeks once your initial 12 week course is complete.
How long does each treatment take?
It is recommended to allow a half hour for each of your consultations and an hour each for your peel appointments to include your arrival, completion of your record and the treatment itself.
Does the treatment hurt?
Everyone’s skin responds differently, but I take steps to minimise downtime and support the skin’s natural renewal process so you can enjoy Medik8’s Results Without Compromise. The peels can feel warm and tingly on the skin, for a few, this may feel like a mild stinging but never painful. I monitor your skin throughout treatment and adapt the peels timings according to your comfort so you will never experience discomfort or pain. Immediately after your peel, the Professional Ultimate Recovery Mask will be applied to help soothe and hydrate the skin. Additionally, using the recommended Medik8 CSA products, (free with the ‘1 Weeks To Wow’ Package), for homecare use will further soothe and support your skin throughout treatment.

Although amazing results can be seen following a one-off treatment, a course of six treatments is typically recommended for optimal results, with optional maintenance treatments to maintain results. Results vary dependent on factors such as your skin's current condition, lifestyle, general health of the skin, underlying health conditions, how you care for your skin at home and your body’s healing process.
